Immanuel Children and Youth

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. (Mark 10:14)

Children, youth and their families are one of the key centres around which Immanuel operates.

Children's Garden

Come and join us as we create our garden for 2022.  We've built some raised beds along the south side of our building at 142 Massey Road.  We have two programs in place:

The first is a pre-school program designed for parents / guardians to attend with their child.  This program runs on Tuesdays beginning at 10:00 am and will run throughout the summer.  Participants will have fun planting and tending to their garden, as well as other activities such as stories and games supporting the theme of gardening and environmental responsibilities and sustainability.

The second is an after-school activity that will run on Wednesdays at 4:00 pm and will run throughout the summer.  Along with planting and tending to their garden, participants will have opportunities to learn about being responsible for our environment, and what sustainability is all about.  They may also have the opportunity to help out with our new Native/Pollinator garden that will put us on the Butterflyway map.

We ask that you register your child so we know how many to prepare for, and also so that we can communicate with you in the case of inclement weather and we decide to cancel for the day.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL / DAYCAMP 2022

Food Truck Party VBS is based on Matthew 6:11 (NRSV): “Give us this day our daily bread.” This verse reminds us that everything we have comes from God—but it also calls us to turn to God in prayer for our daily needs.

Food Truck Party is a fun event, with a unique food truck court and a special food truck called “On a Roll,” where Chefs learn important lessons about God’s ability to provide. Chefs are guided each day by the food truck’s Top Chef and DJ Cupcake to learn about the Daily Special––a familiar prayer that teaches us to turn to God to meet our needs. The Top Chef, DJ Cupcake, and Chefs set out to learn how we can depend on God to take care of us.

Because God loves and cares for us, we, in turn, can love and care for the rest of the world. We care for others because God first cared for us. In this way the Church becomes the hands of God, ensuring that everyone’s needs are met. Each session focuses on different ways God has met the needs of God’s people and reminds us that God is still doing this today through us.

Join us August 22 - 26 for lots of fun!  The camp runs from 9:30 to 3:30 each day and is completely free.  We do offer before and after childcare for a fee of $25.00 for the week.
Our camp is open to children going into grade 1 in the fall and older.  Children are asked to bring a bagged lunch, a water bottle, a hat, and a mask.  Snacks will be provided.

Francis and Friends at Camp Harding

Francis and Friends is a faith and nature resource which seeks to get families back outdoors, to strengthen family bonds and to be filled with awe and wonder. It is built upon the loving, inclusive teachings of St. Francis and St. Claire of Assisi. It centers the Christian life in the Great Commandment to love God with all our Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength.  Some of our Immanuel families booked cabins and took in the experience during the summer of 2021.
