Immanuel Children and Youth

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. (Mark 10:14)

Children, youth and their families are one of the key centres around which Immanuel operates.

Sunday School

Sunday School for 2023-24 started up again on September 10th.  The children come into church and stay for the children's message and then go upstairs.  They return to church for communion.

We will continue to have two groups.  We have a class for younger children, and another for those ready for more in-depth learning of the Bible and participating and exploring church services.  Children typically make the shift around grade 6, but all children are welcome to join the group which is best for them.   We also have a nursery located next to the kitchen in the church hall.  A TV is set up so that you can watch the live-streamed service while tending to your babies and toddlers.

The schedule for Sunday School is normally every Sunday at 10:00 am from September to June with a break over Christmas.

Watch for details of our windup set for Sunday, June 9th immediately following the service.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please feel free to contact me at 306-501-7364 or email gmrupchan@hotmail.com.

Blessings!

Gwen Rupchan, Sunday School Champion

Tweens Program

A recap of our Tweens program for this school year:

September 29 - we baked muffins for the Trinity Lutheran lunch program and had a blast with games.

October 27 - we made homemade laundry detergent and packaged it into one-load bags to give out to less fortunate people.  Carving pumpkins was the fun for the night.

November 24 - was all about unique gifts that help others for Christmas and more games.

January 26 - we made valentine cards for the residents of Qu'Appelle House and had fund with badminton and ping pong.

February 23 - we made bread for communion, and had fun with an indoor snowball fight and other games.

March 22 - we made sandwiches for the First Baptist Saturday Lunch program, and followed it with Movie Nite!

Our next night is April 26th, and our service work will incorporate the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle theme to celebrate Earth Day which is April 22.  Check out the poster HERE

Watch for details of an end of season event to be held on May 24th with other faith based organizations in Regina!

The tweens program is a joint venture between Immanuel and Our Savior's Lutheran, which is just down the street from us at 190 Massey Road.  The program is geared for those in grades 5 - 8 and includes a service project, a lesson/devotional time and some fun each time.  We meet monthly on the last Friday of the month during the school year.

Children's Garden (2022 and 2023)

In the spring of 2022, we built a raised bed along the south side of the church hall and invited children to come on Tuesdays at 10 or after school on Wednesdays to plant, take care of it, and then harvest.  This program was made possible by a grant from the Anglican Foundation of Canada and their Say Yes! To Kids initiative.  Check out 3 articles in our news area about the garden.
