Christine Burton is Ordained!

Christine Burton was ordained deacon in a service held on May 1, 2023, at Immanual Anglican Church. Bishop Helen Kennedy was the presiding celebrant. Dean Mike Sinclair delivered the sermon, and Rev. Michael Bruce sang the litany.

Christine was presented for ordination by clergy Archdeacon Catherine Harper, Rev. Susan Anholt and Rev. Deacon Canon Susan Page; and by members of the laity, Kathy Crowe, Stephen Giles and Bette-Lou Paragg. Parishioners Bert Clarke and Dr. Margi Hollingshead read the two lessons. Deacon Arleen Champion read the gospel. The organist was Dawn Gates, accompanied by the Immanuel Choir, of which Burton has been a member.

Christine will be moving to St. Mary's Anglican Church as Deacon, and she will be greatly missed at Immanuel. Congratulations Christine - we are so happy for you!
