Welcome to Immanuel's Vestry for 2022!

01 Mar 2022

Immanuel’s second Annual General Meeting was held at 11:00 am on Sunday, February 27th, 2022.  Just over 90 people attended this Zoom meeting, including guests Bishop Helen Kennedy and Archdeacon Cheryl Toth.

Our Vestry for 2022 includes:

Rod Ashley – Warden

Nadine Smith – Warden and Synod Delegate

Richard Simpson – Deputy Warden and Synod Delegate

Mae Boa – Vestry Member

Christine Burton – Vestry Member

Diane Gingras – Vestry Member and Synod Delegate

Pat Hall – Vestry Member and Synod Delegate

Jennifer Jacobs – Vestry Member

Kurtis Krug – Vestry Member and Synod Delegate

Bette Lou Paragg – Vestry Member

Bishop Helen Kennedy opened the meeting with prayer, and Archdeacon Cheryl Toth gave a reflection mid-way through.

The work of our church in 2021 was summarized into the AGM Report booklet found HERE and the reports were formally accepted by those present.

All of the contracts for our Ministerial Team are ending at the end of June this year, and so a Search Committee was struck in early January.  The committee includes the two people elected to the search committee last year, plus the two wardens from 2021 and the Synod delegates from 2021.  The membership of the committee therefore includes Mae Boa, Laura French, Diane Gingras, Pat Hall, Kurtis Krug, Richard Simpson, Nadine Smith, and Jenny Williams.  The Committee will stay together until the search process is complete, per Canons and regulations.

The Search Committee reported that the goal is to complete the search process by June 2022. One of the requirements to fulfil this duty is to provide a Parish Profile.  A draft version of this document was shared via email shortly before the meeting and parishioners are invited to give their thoughts and impressions via email to info@immanuelanglicanregina.ca

Rev. Michael Bruce provided an overview of Immanuel’s Vision and Mission statements. Members were asked to think about “How do I feel about our Vision and Mission, and How do I fit in?”.  A short break-out session to discuss this followed using Zoom break-out rooms (technology that not everyone was familiar with, but it went very smoothly).

Some final business/operational items followed, including adoption of the 2022 budget, a Capital Plan for 2022 and election of signing officers

The meeting concluded with some final comments from Archdeacon Cheryl Toth and Bishop Helen Kennedy. Rev Michael Bruce ended the meeting with prayer and the meeting was adjourned. Deacon Susan Page gave the ‘dismissal.’
